In front of you, after a long preparation and severe labour pains, there is the first issue of the internationally reviewed scientific journal “Transactions on Maritime Science.” It is published by the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split which is the successor to the institution based in 1959. This Journal has arisen from the Proceedings of the Maritime College in Split (ISSN 1332-585X) with 55 papers published in the 5 issues from the year 2000 to 2005.
